Community Work Service in Action
These are pictures of the annual community work service at Camp Togo Woods in Wasilla. For many years, the prisoners at Point MacKenzie Correctional Farm perform clean up work prior to opening the camp site. This year Point Mac prisoners will perform many duties including: clear brush; chop firewood; clean up and divert a small creek; build a small foot bridge over a trail and set up tents. Correctional Officer Kenneth Crews is the team leader.
Maintenance Supervisor Dennis DeYoung will also lead a small prisoner work crew to rehab some cabins that require electrical work and dry wall replacement. The prisoners will work through the month of May to prepare for the opening for the Girl Scout camp the first week of June.
