Goose Creek Correctional Center
Groundbreaking for the new Goose Creek Correctional Center is
expected to begin in the spring of 2009. The institution will be
located in the Mat-Su Borough at the intersection of Alsop Road
and Point MacKenzie Road. GCCC will have 1,536 beds to house
male prisoners with long-term sentences, as well as the ability
to provide overflow capacity for un-sentenced prisoners from
local pre-trial facilities.
