Effective August 1, 2012, the suspension of the Transfer policy is rescinded. All transfers will now be posted on the DOC website and application for transfer will be in accordance with Article 9.8 of the collective bargaining agreement. Requests for transfer under hardship or special circumstance will be considered on a case by case basis by the Director.
The Department of Corrections is continuing the process of staffing our newest facility, Goose Creek Correctional Center. This is a unique and exciting time for our Department as well as neighboring communities. The Department is committed to making the staffing of the new facility a success, as well as transferring and promoting existing personnel.
