Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week: Fairbanks PACE Team

As we celebrate Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week, we want to take a moment to highlight the very important work our probation and parole professionals do here in Alaska.

Today we showcase The Fairbanks Probation Team who has rose to the challenge of implementing the PACE program. The PACE team is comprised of four individuals who have all taken the bull by the horns and have come out on top.

PO Korhonen’ s skill as an experienced field officer ensures the PACE team is frequently conducting home visits and executing expedient and safe arrests when needed. PO Bond’s ability to communicate with offenders and her ability to craft Re-Entry plans help the PACE participants comply with the demanding requirements imposed on them and help’s offenders remain violation free. PO Whitman’s skills in the court room is common knowledge in the Fairbanks area. His ability to be fair to both the offender and the community when crafting rehabilitation plans that address treatment needs and societal norms is recognized by Judges and attorneys. Criminal Justice Technician Taylor’s ability to keep up with the high volume of paperwork and the tracking of statistics is unmatched. His skill with computers has created tracking programs and forms which have made almost unmanageable tasks manageable.

The Fairbanks PACE program is off to a great start and will continue to expand and improve the PACE program.

Thank you Fairbanks PACE Team for your service! We appreciate you!
