HMCC inmates ‘give back’ with generous holiday donations

The Hiland Mountain Correctional Center Native Culture Council has adopted the villages of Larsen Bay and Atmautluak for this year’s “Adopt a Village program. In addition, the Inmate Council Club has adopted two families through the Salvation Army. The inmates raised approximately $8,000 for the two villages, and $6,000 for the two families. Many handcrafted items are included but are not reflected in the cost figures.
